A Foundation in Knowledge and Heritage
Mumin’s career began with a distinguished role as the Representative of the United States Library of Congress in Sudan, a position he continues to hold. This experience was instrumental in shaping his dedication to preserving cultural heritage and his understanding of the power of literature to connect people. It was during this time that he recognized the need for a platform that could make Sudanese knowledge and literature accessible to the world, which led to the creation of Books Blend.
From Vision to Reality: The Birth of Books Blend
Driven by this vision, Mumin launched Books Blend, Sudan’s first online marketplace for humanities studies. This innovative platform is the culmination of his extensive experience and his unwavering commitment to his cultural roots. Before founding Books Blend, Mumin built an impressive corporate career within one of the largest and most diversified family businesses in East and Central Africa. After honing his strategic and operational skills within the company, he progressed to the crucial position of Secretary to the Board of Directors, playing an instrumental role in corporate governance, growth, and innovation.
A Commitment to Social Impact
Mumin’s commitment to social impact is a cornerstone of his identity. He directs the education section of a leading Sudanese charitable foundation, where he is responsible for shaping its strategic vision in education. In this capacity, he leads initiatives to provide student scholarships and build and renovate school infrastructure. His dedication to social causes extends further; he is actively involved in raising awareness for breast cancer as a member of the Friends of the Breast Cancer Hospital in Khartoum and has played a crucial role in empowering Sudanese youth through his work with the Sudan Volunteers Program (SVP). His past leadership roles as Secretary General of the Sudanese American Friendship Association (SAFA) and within the United Nations Associations of Sudan (UNAS) have been vital in fostering international understanding and cooperation.
A Vision for the Future
His advanced academic achievements demonstrate Mumin’s lifelong commitment to learning and strategic thinking. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Essex and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Khartoum. He is a husband and a father of three.

Through Books Blend, Mumin is creating a premier digital hub for Sudanese culture and scholarship. In the wake of the war that began in April 2023, he believes this mission has a new urgency.
